Further to our monthly League meeting last night, the committee has decided that due to the amount of postponements due to player illness, and some teams player numbers being severely affected, with immediate effect, all 11 a-side football teams ( except Under 11s ) are allowed to “borrow” players from younger age groups ( 11 a-side teams only ) from their respective club , up to a MAXIMUM of FOUR players. Players must be registered to the SNYFL in their relevant age group and must also have a player registration number which must be completed on the match card. This does NOT apply to any mini soccer teams.
Mini Soccer
The League has ruled that the minimum amount of players required to play a mini soccer game is as follows :-
Under 7/Under 8 5 players
Under 9 5 players
Under 10 6 players
We as a League will always expect common sense to prevail in regards to playing games with fewer players. If you have a query over this matter please do not hesitate to give me a call.

SNYFL Committee..

Dear Colleagues
With the withdrawal of our Under 14 & Under 15 age groups this season due to lack of teams entering I have decided to start our league at Under 7 level. I have today spoken with Richard King at Norfolk FA, and I have been given the go ahead to set up an Under 7 section.
I know there are a lot of clubs with young players and I hope this decision will benefit many of them, and give a lot of young players the chance to play the game they love from an early age.
The Under 7 section WILL require players participating to have reached the age of 6 on 31st August 2009.
Please remember to adhere to the following information:
Under no circumstances must any player who has not reached 6 years of age on or before 31 August 2009 play in any competitive match during the 2009-2010 playing season. FA regulations states `a child who has not attained nor will have attained the age of six as at midnight on 31 August shall not be permitted to play in matches of any kind in that playing season`
Under 7s and under 8s are not permitted to play in leagues where results are collected or published or winner`s trophies are presented. For the current playing season, to play in a KO cup game or a game where points are awarded, or results collected, a player must have achieved the age of 8 on or before the 31 August.
I am proposing that the games are played 5 a-side. The length of games/frequency of matches etc will be determined by you. Under 7s are advised to play no more than 45 minutes per day.
With the age of the players involved and travelling to matches within our league radius in mind, One option is to have THREE teams at one location and each plays each other for 2 halves of 10 minutes. Another option could be to play one team per day on a home and away basis. The duration of play on this option is once again open for discussion. This of course depends on the number of teams which enter. Should a club have a lot of players and wish to enter more than one team, player registrations will be to the club, and not to an individual team.
The team registration form can be downloaded from the SNYFL Form Page on this website, which I would kindly ask you to fill in and advise me as to which options you would prefer for matches should you wish to enter a team. If you would like to discuss anything, please do not hesitate to give me a call.
Yours in sport
